A rare find in deep blue and white plaid
This Eri silk shawl is made by Baphinbha, a small studio near Shillong run by sisters Baphinbha and Labynta Rynjah. Each piece is handwoven in Meghalaya using traditional techniques and locally rooted dye practices — some passed down orally through generations.
This version features a striking blue and white plaid pattern, naturally dyed using iron ore and Sohtung leaf, a plant known locally in Meghalaya for its deep colour-giving properties. The bold design is grounded by the softness of the weave — making it both expressive and easy to style.
Eri silk feels like something between wool and cotton — soft, breathable, and gentle on your skin. It’s spun from open-ended cocoons, making it a cruelty-free and sustainable alternative to conventional silk.
Whether you wear it for warmth, style, or meaning, this shawl is made to last — and to be loved.
